Last week we found out that Bonnie was next on the list of fire survivors, Laurel and her dad have some real issues, and Annalise has a strong back hand. This week, though, I was more shook than I’ve ever been before when it comes to this show. The flash forward this week literally ruined my life, I actually screamed. This was a great episode. Eve was back and then gone again, Annalise completed the first step towards recovery, and Wes had a party as awkward as his tension with Laurel. Let’s dig into it!
We started off where we ended last week with Annalise pacing around in her cell anxiously waiting for Bonnie and her heavy news of a second body. We also see this body being urgently rushed into the ER which is nerve racking since we still don’t know who’s under the first sheet! In the present, Eve is in town and she and Annalise hit up the bar. Not much later, they were approached by two men who wanted to buy them drinks. Of course, Annalise didn’t decline. She and Eve spent the rest of the night turning up and when it was all over, Annalise somehow made it home. I thought she drove, but I knew she wasn’t that crazy…I mean she is, but yeah.
The Case
This week the team, with Asher as first chair, were helping a young boy named Tristan who had stolen $40,000 from credit cards in order to buy products for the child he was expecting. The catch was, the child wasn’t with a student at his school, but one of his teachers! We found out when Bonnie forces her to plead the fifth on the stand. Tristan had a past of abuse from being in foster care so the teacher took advantage of that and then lied about being aware of his past. Who does that? A sick person, that’s who. You would think Tristan would be happy to have gotten off, but he wasn’t because now his child would grow up just like he did *tear*. I found it funny that Asher and Bonnie were the two working on this case, considering their pasts with sexual abuse. Tristan thought they were both trash people for ruining everything, but Bonnie had to do it. Frank, WYD Bro? So, we find out that Frank is in Coalport, PA but why? That town sounds random AF so it had to be to do something weird, it was. He was posing as a janitor. Honestly, truly, I don’t even know how those people believed Frank was a janitor named ‘Kevin’. Had I seen a janitor that looked like Frank, I would’ve been in the same situation that nurse was in as well! He slept with her so that he could get access to the infirmary to pay someone a visit. That someone was Bonnie’s dying father…well, he was stable until Frank walked in. His main goal was to kill him with the hydrogen sulfide he acquired from that strange woman. His death was payback for what he did to Bonnie all those years ago. What Frank did was great for a friend, but can you even call him and Bonnie that? I wonder what made him go on this path of redemption. What is the next task on his list?
The Gang
Everyone else seemed to be dealing with their own issues. Laurel got herself a new phone to call Frank on again. And she also helped Meggie plan a surprise party for Wes. I thought Meggie only did that because she low-key knows that there’s something there between Laurel and Wes. But I was wrong. It was messed up of Laurel to tell Wes about it just because she was trying to hide her real issues. One of them, avoiding Wes. Coliver was still having issues this week and honestly, I can’t. They’re both still tiptoeing around each other and have both resorted to using Humpr(Grindr) and Connor has gone back to his old ways. He went to a college dorm to hook up with two guys AND HE CARDED THEM! I’ve never been so dead, I lol’d so hard. But it’s also sad because Connor only does it because he thought Oliver and Simon(Drake) had something going on.
Annalise, You Need To Chill Sis
Annalise was definitely having a hard day. It all started off with her showing up to court hungover all to find out that her license was suspended. It turns out, someone had sent in a video of her slapping her client. She was now going to have to have a meeting with the board for further instructions. Annalise also popped off on the university president after she found out that a board member sent in that video to sabotage her. The president clapped back and told her that without her license, she could lose her tenure so she better calm down, yikes. To make matters worse, Nate and Annalise also got into it over her drinking and Eve. Eve was leaving to San Francisco because she met someone, so she wasn’t even a factor right now. Annalise of course denied it but when he called her an alcoholic, that’s where she drew the line. She yelled at him to hit her and called him a bitch. She has lost her mind. Annalise decided to take what Nate told her about being an alcoholic and flip it. She went to the board early so that she can give a formal statement. In it, she said that she turned to alcohol because of the flyers of her around the school, the death of her husband, and just life in general. In her statement, she promised to seek treatment if she could get her license reinstated (yeah, like the treatment will actually happen). While this was happening, Nate decided that he would sleep with the ADA that hates Annalise, rude.
Four Weeks Later
We’re back at the hospital and everyone seems to be freaking out over this mysterious person from the fire. We see things from their pov and apparently the victim isn’t in good shape so they run some tests on them. Oliver shows up and is asking questions to see if the person is Connor and Bonnie finds him there. Meggie is also present as she had just started her shifts working in the ER and she has the test results for the person. She also sees who the patient is and realizes that she knows them. The camera zooms in and we find out that the second body found in the house is LAUREL and she’s pregnant!!! I promise I screamed when I saw that it was her. Since she was the second body, I’m sure that she’ll live. But the hard hitting question here is, who is the father of the baby!?!? Wes? Frank?
