So, we’re only two episodes in and I can already tell that this show is going to ruin my life (in a good way). The cliffhangers continue to leave me looking around the room in shock questioning how Pete Nowalk could do this to me. Last week we caught up with everyone and learned what they got into over the summer and we also learned that each week we’d find out who wasn’t killed in the fire at Annalise’s house. That alone is enough to cause me to have no nails left to chew on for the season! This week’s episode gave us a few more minutes of time with Annalise after finding out who was dead and we also got into a case that definitely hit home for one of the Keating Five. Let’s jump into it!
We started off with Annalise having a meeting with the campus President about the issue of the flyers yet again. Annalise claimed they were being put up by an upset student and appeared unfazed as usual. And the President said the issue was being looked into, which seemed like a lie since the flyers were still being put up. So someone was looking into it, but not with much effort. We flashed back to Frank, possibly the night before, and him blowing up the car of the P.I. Annalise had hired to take him out/bring him in? I’m not sure which since Annalise wasn’t as well. Frank had left Annalise a voicemail which she listened to as the show opened and he shared that he didn’t want to kill the guy, but that he had too and he was crying *ugly cries along with him* So of course, being Frank, he drove the guy’s car into a tree to make it look like he had been in an accident before propping the guy up in the front seat and completely torching the car and walking away like a badass. Annalise was worried about Frank’s whereabouts so she asked Nate if he’d help her find him (I forgot Nate had a job since his one job seemed to be standing around glistening). And he was able to track a few IP addresses that he used across the country but now he could be anywhere since they were fake, creepy.
We got to see Connor and Oliver tiptoeing around each other awkwardly. It was Connor’s first day of work with Annalise and he was kind of freaking out. The question of whether they’d walk to school together or not also came up which was funny since they’re broken up. It wasn’t really funny, but sad. Almost like they were trying to keep things going even though again, they’re broken up. So Connor shows up to class and shares the news with his crew and they all rudely think that the breakup was caused by Connor cheating on Oliver. Things lightened up a little after Annalise introduced the new client/case when Oliver interrupted to introduce himself to the class as their resident hacker.
Getting into the case, we’re working with Irene who was abused by her husband and later killed him. She’s up for a parole hearing and the students have to present their best resolutions to help Irene to get out of prison. This part was funny because she had something to say to everyone and when it came time for Connor to talk with her, he shared his idea, she replied and he replied back with a lack of care for her fate. That made him her number one choice to his despair.
Asher and Michaela have still been doing their thing, but their fwb situation got a little heated this week. Michaela obviously wants absolutely no one to know about the two of them because they’re just too different. She also doesn’t want a relationship with him so he has to let it go or everything is over. She also makes it clear that she sees him as a “meat stick” which Asher doesn’t take too well, because who would?

Connor and Irene didn’t seem to be meshing too well which I think was because Connor was afraid of the case and putting himself into it because he’d do a bad job. But his position in the case was made clear after he popped off on the members of the parole board. That was the most passionate I had seen Connor about anything, so Irene not defending herself mixed with the victim blaming of the board really set him off. When they were on recess, he shared some encouraging words with her about getting away with murder and how the person deserved it but if she stayed quiet about her abuse she’d never get out of prison. Annalise eavesdropped on the convo and didn’t look happy when the two emerged. But it turns out the talk was all Irene needed and she was able to move the board enough to have them grant her parole and immediate release!
Back at Middleton, one would think that the win would be good for Annalise’s class and would make the President happy, but nope! Our girl is on her way out! The President met with her again to basically tell her that she was “suspended” because the flyer situation was getting out of hand and the school didn’t want to be gain a bad reputation for Annalise’s drama. What!? Annalise was not here for that as we knew she wouldn’t be and straight up said that isnt happening. She threatened to sue any and every one that she could if they tried to take her job. She also dared them to lock her out of her classroom. I’m scared to see what she’d do if they did, so hopefully the President is smart enough not to make that move!
Connor arrived home after his win and found Oliver making him a celebratory dinner, but since Connor’s day wasn’t emotionally full of highs, he just wants Oliver to be there for him. But nope! Of course, that didn’t happen. The two kissed and Connor tries to patch things up again sharing that “he’d do whatever it took to make Oliver happy again” insert the wrench. Oliver reminded him that they were on a break and that he’d be happy if Connor left. Um…whet?! I couldn’t take it, especially seeing Connor’s face when he rolled up to Michaela’s apartment. Once there, the secret was also revealed to someone about her and Asher hooking up since he came to the door also.
Some other things that happened this episode were Annalise asking Wes to move in with her and Bonnie, Annalise and Laurel teaming up to try and bring Frank back. Somehow, Annalise thought it wouldn’t be weird to ask Wes for such a favor considering she’s his teacher. But he declines the offer. Later, he stops by with a pizza to keep her company which was nice. She didn’t really want him there which was confirmed when her eyes started to glaze over when he was talking about trusting Laurel because she was his best friend. Bonnie and the girls also got together once they found out Laurel hadn’t actually been talking to Frank and just leaving him voicemails, they decided to leave one more. Honestly, I don’t know how stupid they think Frank is. Laurel had been leaving him all these other messages that had the same tone. This one just sounded like she was being forced to say what she did and he’ll obviously see right through it.
After all of that, we finally go to the scene we had all been waiting for, the flash forward. We see Annalise in the back of ambulance urging the police to arrest her since they think she’s a suspect in the burning of her own house. And then someone approaches her…. ITS OLIVER! So we can mark him off of the not dead list. He’s freaking out about who’s dead and asks if Annalise had heard from Connor because he hadn’t but Annalise said it wasn’t him *sighs of relief* As she’s being handcuffed, she hands Oliver a phone and tells him to wipe the whole thing. We know now that Oliver gets himself in way too deep in those two months.
This episode wasn’t bad, I mean it wasn’t the premiere, but still great. I really just want to know who’s going to be under the sheet, but then I don’t. We’re off to a pretty strong start, so we can only go up from here. When it comes to who I think is under the sheet I’m not sure who it is. I don’t think its Wes because I feel Annalise would’ve been more broken up if it was. So I’m going to say the President of the university, Bonnie, or Frank.
Who do you think is under the sheet!?
