Honestly, I don’t know how much longer I can take theorizing about who could possibly be dead. This week’s episode confirmed that it’s time for me to take a break and let the body fall as it may! I can no longer stress myself during the episodes trying to decide who I do/don’t want to be under the sheet. Last week, we found out that Asher was alive, which was fab. ‘Call It Mother’s Intuition’ was the episode that reminded us that the Five were actually all Annalise’s children even though they thought she was trash AF and ruined their lives. Let’s talk about it.
We began where we have been for the past couple of episodes, with Annalise in her jail cell. Apparently, she’s being charged with arson and first-degree murder. When asked where the tip came from, the detective shared it was an “anonymous source”. With this show, no tip is anonymous, so I knew that we’d find out sooner or later who was crazy enough to turn sell out Annalise. Two weeks prior, we find Wes talking with the police yet again. They went searching for him last week, so I assume he was over staying with Annalise and decided to hit them up s that he could go home and be in peace. While at the station, Wes was being interrogated about the Mahoney murder and was stupid enough to confirm that it was Charles Mahoney that he saw at the scene of their father’s murder. Now, the lawyer told him to keep his mouth closed, but Wes decided to be Mr.AttemptToSaveAHoe when in reality, he made things worse for himself.
The Case
The case of the week involved some mean old lady who was accusing her three adult children of poisoning her with antifreeze. Upon meeting the children and hearing about how horrible their mother was to them growing up, I understood why they’d poison her. She literally made their lives miserable. But of course, they had to put on a united front in court and show just how much they loved their mother and would never do such a thing to cause her harm, lies.com. After the honesty hour session Annalise had with her interns, which I’ll later address, Laurel was the one who would be questioning this woman in the hearing. Our girl was nervous as ever, she couldn’t even read the questions off of her note cards. But the team had found out that she had poisoned herself and got her to admit it on the stand. So if you’re keeping score that’s old lady 0 and her kids and the team: 1.
The Drag
Annalise was feeling some kind of way representing these clients. Mainly because she was in a similar situation. The Keating Five were like her kids and she wondered if she’d ever be in a situation where one of them would poison her. She decided to have a mini honesty hour session where they had to come at her with all they had. Everything that they’ve ever felt/feel about her to get it off their chest so that there would be no secrets between any of them. The general consensus was that she was a mean alcoholic that ruined all of their lives one way or another. It was like she took everything that they shouted at her with a grain of salt because when they were done she said “Okay. Get a good night’s sleep so we can start fresh tomorrow.” What??? Who says okay after being dragged like that? It seemed to have changed her though considering she was nice to President Hargrove. Annalise was present in AA when President Hargrove was sharing her story about drunk driving with her children and how she’s now divorced and they hate her. So I mean after that, how could Annalise continue to have a ‘tude? She did, but made up for it later by giving President Hargrove the contact information for her friend who was a family attorney.
Oliver was also having a day from hell, yet again. He was about to go on his third date with Thomas and according to the crew, that meant they were supposed to finally have sex. Thomas thought this was the case as well and was ready to go all in. Oliver was nervous for many reasons, but mainly about how he was going to tell Thomas that he had HIV. When he finally let it out, Thomas nicely told him that he wasn’t ready for all of that and decided not to go any further with Oliver. This scene was so sad. I felt for Oliver but was happy that he was honest because not everyone in his situation would’ve been. Obviously, Oliver was upset and decided to turn to the one person who would console him, Connor. He showed up at Michaela’s place and talked it out. He admitted that he missed Connor even though he knew it was selfish, which it truly was. But that didn’t matter seeing as they were making out in minutes and made their way into Michaela’s room. They were finished before she returned which was cool if Michaela wasn’t Michaela. What got me about this moment wasn’t even how selfish Oliver was and the fact that they possibly still aren’t together, but the downright disrespect these two had for Michaela by having sex IN HER BED! *scoffs*
Frank and His Lady Probs
Our tv bae was finally back in Philly but chose the weirdest way to make himself known/unknown. Frank had the nerve to be hiding in the corner of Laurel’s apartment while her and Wes were about to get it in during a break from class. But the weird thing was, he was probably standing right in the middle of the room and they were too blinded by their lust to seem him on their way to the bed room, yuck. I just wish their thing was only one episode. As I’ve stated, I don’t like Wes and Laurel one bit. After that interaction was a fail, Frank stopped by to see the next woman in his life, Bonnie. Frank showed up and tried to explain himself but BONNIE WASN’T HERE FOR IT!! He had the nerve to cry and beg for her forgiveness after abandoning her in the motel. She was the only one who was still on his side before that, not anymore boo boo! She yelled in his face to leave her house and he did, with his tail between his legs. That scene was everything.
After that horrible attempt at an apology, Frank returned to Laurels, well outside her house, to try and talk with her. Instead, what he got was an earful of her conversation with Wes which included her accidently saying that she loved him while hanging up. Frank heard everything and wasn’t impressed, as he loudly expressed from outside her window.
Two Weeks Later
We’re back at the hospital with Laurel when she finally wakes up. She started freaking out but Meggie was there to calm her down and provide her with writing utensils. Laurel scribbled Wes’ name on a piece of paper. Immediately, I thought she was trying to say he was in trouble or worse, dead. NOPE! Wes is still alive and well, he was just busy at the police station signing an immunity deal so that he was good to go when he sells out Annalise! WTF HAPPENED?! Is this for real? Is it another plan between Annalise and him? What is it Peter Nowalk!? At this point, I’m about to throw in the towel. I was so sure that it was Wes that was under the sheet, but we all make mistakes. This leaves Connor, Nate, and Frank left as potential cadavers.
What did you think of the episode!?
How To Get Away With Murder airs on Thursdays at 10pm on ABC.
